CITY OF SANTA CLARA, UTAH
ORDINANCE NO. 2017-13
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE HISTORIC DISTRICT OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARA, UTAH, AS RECOMMENDED BY THE HERITAGE COMMISSION AND PLANNING COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, the Heritage Commission and Planning Commission of the City of Santa Clara have reviewed the boundaries of the Historic District, depicted on the City General Plan Map, and the City Zoning Map, and have recommended certain amendments to the same; and
WHEREAS, the recommended amendments both remove certain property from the Historic District because of the recent age of development and/or distance from Santa Clara Drive, and add other property to the Historic District, based on proximity to Santa Clara Drive; and
WHEREAS, property owners affected by the proposed boundary amendments received notice of the proposed changes by mail of a public hearing, which was held by the Planning Commission on June 20, 2017, at which no comments were received, and only one property owner responded by letter in support of his property’s removal from the Historic District; and
WHEREAS, at the June 20th meeting, the Planning Commission voted to recommend the proposed amendments to the City Council for approval; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the proposed amendments, and determined that the amendments will help to fulfill the purpose of the Historic District and Heritage Commission to protect and promote the heritage of Santa Clara, and enhance the historic resources of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Santa Clara, Utah, that the Santa Clara City General Plan Map and Zoning Map shall each be updated as follows:
SECTION 1. Amendment:
The General Plan Map and Zoning Map shall be revised and updated to reflect the revised and amended boundaries of the Historic District as set forth on the map attached to this ordinance. City staff is hereby directed to carry out the amendments as set forth.
SECTION 2. Effective date:
This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon adoption, recording and posting in the manner prescribed by law.
ADOPTED and approved by a duly constituted quorum of the City Council of the City of Santa Clara, Utah, this 28th day of June, 2017.
